Cracked Cities TourThe touring show comprises two elements - lightjet photographic prints and the dynamic of the screen based work. Images selected for printing range across the locations incorporated into the project - Asia, America and Europe.
The digital work examinines the way in which we read images in the pre-digital age. The first piece works with the slide show; the mechanised ritual of sitting in front of a screen as the family album clunks through a projector is reconstructed. Alongside the fan noise and noisy image changes we hear voices interpreting the images on the screen.
The second work plays with the non-linear effect of flicking through a book of pictures, the images flash by and slow down as we pause to examine some more closely, and then move back and forth catching a rapid fire glimpse of pages.
